Maxwell Sharkey
Online Store Redesign & Brand Enhancements

Remember the '90s, Live for Right Now
When we hopped on board, Maxwell Sharkey had a strong visual foundation to work with: a character-rich logo and mascot, a set of colors and typefaces, and a killer beginning product line. The initial Shopify storefront was already gaining some traction, but the desire remained to make the brand's digital presence align with the Sharkey way: to Stay Dangerously Cool.

After some analysis and research, we developed an approach fit specifically for Maxwell Sharkey and their near- and far-term goals. We determined the most immediate needs fell largely within creating a cohesive visual identity that would set the stage for building out the brand as a whole, paired heavily with a focus on optimal user experience for visitor's to the store.

A Little Custom Goes A Long Way
In building out the storefront, we knew there were certain design patterns that Maxwell Sharkey's user demographic would be familiar with. The online shopping experience needed to be pretty straightforward.
Knowing this, we didn't spin our wheels to reinvent the wheel by needlessly implementing super complicated interactions or creating custom elements for the sake of saying "we made this different". We intentionally chose key moments that might pleasantly surprise a user and serve as a chance to amplify the Maxwell Sharkey brand, like custom product images with styled badges or subtle, simple animations to enhance the shopping experience without distracting a customer from making a purchase.
